1. Data protection
We are pleased that you visit our websites and are interested in our offers. Protecting your personal data is important to us. This privacy information explains how we collect personal data, what we do with it, for which purposes and on which legal bases this happens, and which rights and claims you have in connection with it.
This privacy information for the use of our websites and the privacy policy of SpeakEASY Sprachschule GmbH do not apply to your activities on websites of social networks or other providers that you can reach through links on our websites. Please inform yourself about the privacy provisions of those providers on their own websites.
2. Collection and processing of personal data
a. When you visit our websites, we store certain information about the browser and operating system you use, the date and time of the visit, the access status, for example whether you were able to access a page or received an error message, the use of website functions, any search terms you may have entered, the frequency with which you access individual pages, the names of files accessed, the amount of data transferred, the website from which you came to our websites, and the website you visit from our websites by clicking links or by entering a domain directly in the same browser tab or window in which our websites were opened. For security reasons, especially to prevent and detect attacks on our websites or attempted fraud, we also store your IP address and the name of your internet service provider for seven days.
b. We store other personal data only if you provide it to us, for example as part of registration, a contact form, a survey, a competition or contract performance, and only insofar as this is permitted on the basis of your consent or applicable legal provisions.
c. You are neither legally nor contractually obliged to provide personal data. However, certain website functions may depend on the provision of personal data. If you do not provide such data, these functions may not be available or may be available only to a limited extent.
3. Purposes of use
a. We use personal data collected when you visit our websites to operate them as conveniently as possible for you and to protect our IT systems against attacks and other unlawful acts.
b. If you provide further personal data, for example through registration, a contact form, a survey, a competition or contract performance, we use this data for the stated purposes, for customer management and, where required, for processing and billing business transactions to the necessary extent.
4. Transfer of personal data to third parties; social plug-ins
a. Our websites may contain offers from third parties. If you click such an offer, we transfer data to the relevant provider to the required extent, for example the information that you found the offer on our website and, where applicable, further information that you have already entered on our websites.
b. If we use social plug-ins from networks such as Facebook, Twitter or Google+, they are initially deactivated when you visit our websites, so no data is transferred to the operators of these networks. If you wish to use one of the networks, click the relevant social plug-in to establish a direct connection to the network server.
If you have a user account with the network and are logged in when activating the social plug-in, the network may assign your visit to our websites to your user account. To avoid this, log out of the network before activating the plug-in. A social network cannot assign visits to other SpeakEASY websites before a plug-in located there has also been activated.
When you activate a social plug-in, the network transmits the available content directly to your browser, which integrates it into our websites. In this situation, data transmissions initiated and controlled by the respective social network may also occur. Your connection to a social network, data transfers between the network and your system, and your interactions on the platform are governed exclusively by the privacy provisions of that network. The social plug-in remains active until you deactivate it or delete your cookies.
c. If you click a link to an offer or activate a social plug-in, personal data may be transferred to providers in countries outside the European Economic Area that, from the perspective of the European Union, do not ensure an adequate level of protection for personal data. Please keep this in mind before clicking a link or activating a plug-in.
5. Evaluation of usage data; analytics tools
a. We want to tailor the content of our websites as closely as possible to your interests and improve our offer. To identify usage preferences and particularly popular areas of the websites, we use Google Analytics.
b. When using analytics tools, data may be transferred to servers located in the United States and processed there. From the perspective of the European Union, the United States does not generally provide an adequate level of protection for personal data. This level of protection may be replaced for individual companies by certification under the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield.
c. If you do not want us to collect and evaluate information about your website visit using these tools, you may object at any time for the future by opting out. We implement the objection by setting an opt-out cookie in your browser. This cookie is used only to assign your objection. If you delete cookies or use another browser or device, you must opt out again.
d. Google Inc. is certified under the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield. You can prevent the transfer, collection and processing of your data by Google. Google provides information at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.
6. Usage-based information, targeting and retargeting
To tailor online marketing, such as banner advertising on websites of retargeting partners including Google Adwords, more closely to your needs and interests, we use retargeting technologies. Your interest in our products and services is stored in cookies. When you visit other websites that work with our retargeting partners, these cookies are read and used to provide information that is as interest-based as possible. This is anonymized, so you cannot be identified through retargeting.
If you do not want SpeakEASY Sprachschule and its retargeting partners to collect, store and analyze information about your visit or tailor banner advertising to your interests, you can object at any time for the future. An opt-out cookie is set in your browser to technically implement this objection. This cookie is used only to assign your objection. If you delete cookies or use a different browser or device, you must opt out again. You can manage and disable third-party cookies at http://www.youronlinechoices.com/de/praferenzmanagement/.
7. Security
We use technical and organizational security measures to protect data managed by us against manipulation, loss, destruction and access by unauthorized persons. We continuously improve our security measures according to technological development.
8. Legal bases of processing
a. Where you have given consent to processing of your personal data, this consent is the legal basis for processing under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.
b. For processing personal data for the purposes of initiating or fulfilling a contract with you, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR is the legal basis.
c. Where processing of personal data is required to comply with legal obligations, for example retention obligations, we are authorized to do so under Article 6(1)(c) GDPR.
d. We also process personal data for legitimate interests pursued by us or by third parties under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Maintaining the functionality of our IT systems, marketing our own and third-party products and services, and legally required documentation of business contacts are such legitimate interests.
9. Deletion of personal data
We delete your IP address and the name of your internet service provider, which we store only for security reasons, after seven days. Otherwise, we delete personal data as soon as the purpose for which it was collected and processed no longer applies. Storage beyond that point takes place only where required under laws, regulations or other legal provisions of the European Union or a member state to which we are subject.
10. Rights of data subjects
a. As a person affected by data processing, you have the right to information (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR) and data portability (Art. 20 GDPR).
b. If you have consented to our processing of your personal data, you have the right to withdraw consent at any time. The lawfulness of processing up to the withdrawal remains unaffected. Further processing on another legal basis, such as compliance with legal obligations, also remains unaffected.
c. You have the right, for reasons arising from your particular situation, to object at any time to processing of personal data concerning you that is based on Article 6(1)(e) GDPR or Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. If you object, we will process your personal data only insofar as we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or insofar as processing serves the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims.
d. Please address claims or declarations where possible to info@speakeasy-sprachschule.de.
e. If you believe that the processing of your personal data violates legal requirements, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent data protection supervisory authority under Article 77 GDPR.
